The owners wanted to sell quickly so they priced it right - this was a rare find. It was in excellent condition. It had a lot of land. It was in a very nice area and neighborhood. It was almost too good to be true.I wanted to make an offer immediately. But I wasn't ready. I hadn't gone to a bank to see what I could qualify for. I didn't know how to make an offer.What happened? The very next person who went through the house while I was still there bought it. On the spot. They knew what they were doing. I didn't. I could've made an instant profit of $40k or more. Or just lived in a home well above my price range.I learned an important lesson - when it comes to buying a home - do your homework.
